Behavioral Health Treatment Center (BHTC)

• • • What we offer: Substance Use, Mental Health, and Integrated Assessments.
    • How we help: Assessments are a conversation between you and one of our clinicians that focuses on understanding your life experiences, strengths, needs, and current well-being. They serve a starting point or an initial appointment for your individual needs. The goal of an assessment is to inform treatment recommendations, connect individuals to appropriate levels of care, and support long-term recovery and wellness.
    • What you can expect: Assessments typically last 1-1.5 hours, can be done in person or telehealth (online), and can cost anywhere from $318-$749 if you don’t have Medicaid. Your assessment recommendations will be given to you telephonically within 7 business days of your assessment appointment.

• • • What we offer: Therapy for youth (ages 6 and up), adults, and families.
    • How we help: We use proven, collaborative approaches (like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to help you manage heavy emotions, stress, and past trauma.
    • What you can expect: One on one care from a qualified mental health clinician. Scheduling and counseling services tailored to your individual needs.

• • • What we offer: Outpatient (1.0 OP) & Intensive Outpatient (2.1 IOP) structured recovery programs.
    • How we help: We provide both individual and group counseling. Our programs are designed to meet you where you are, working with you on safe, personalized recovery and harm-reduction goals.
    • What you can expect: Duration of treatment services varies and is unique to your individual needs. You can expect anywhere from 5-19 hours per week consisting of both individual and group appointments.

• • • What we offer: Specialized care if you are navigating both mental health challenges and substance use at the same time. You do not have to choose between treatments; we care for the whole person.
    • What you can expect: Duration of treatment services varies and is dependent on you and your level of need.

• • • What we offer: A 12-hour Zoom drug and alcohol education course open to anyone, offered once a month (subject to facilitator availability & class size).
    • How we help: Convenient, fully certified substance education designed to meet Alaska court, ASAP, and legal mandates. ADIS is a nationally recognized early intervention course that is specifically structured for DUI/OUI offenses, underage consumption, and other substance-related legal issues. The evidence-based program utilizes Interactive Journaling to address the science of impairment, Alaska legal & financial realities, personal use assessment, and risk reduction planning.
    • What you can expect: The Zoom link will be emailed to you after you sign up and pay the $175 fee. The class will be facilitated by one of our clinicians and as a class you will go through an interactive book. In order to receive a certificate of completion you will need to attend all 12 hours (there will be breaks) and complete the pre-test & final test.

• • • What we offer: A free weekly Zoom support group open to everyone.
    • How we help: At AFS, we believe that connection is vital to recovery. We invite anyone looking for additional sober and clean support to join our low-pressure, weekly discussions. We are here to support you and your needs, whatever they may be.
    • What you can expect: This sober support group is held every Wednesday 5-6pm via Zoom. It is open to anyone in the community and facilitated by our clinical team. There are no attendance, paperwork, or participation requirements. We will never disclose if you are a current or past client, your anonymity is entirely yours to protect or share.
